Everyone Has Something To Offer
5.1.2021
The title of this post is something I try to remind myself often. It is important to remember that each person we encounter in work and in life has something valuable that they bring to the table.
This could be a specific skill, a perspective based on previous experience, or a way of doing things that you hadn’t thought of before. Even folks who you find difficult to work with undoubtedly have something they do, or know, or some way that they think that is worth learning from.
It goes without saying that each individual’s life is meaningful regardless of what value they can bring to others. But if you can hone in on what makes a person special, it yields great benefits, both in how you develop your own traits, and in how you relate to them.
I like to say that the person I am is an amalgamation of everyone I’ve ever been in contact with. So it’s worth the effort to focus on the good that each person has in them.
